Meeting the industry standard as a professional portrait photographer
This was one of my Big Audacious Goals for 2023: to become an NZIPP Accredited Professional Photographer. On 30 March 2023 the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers (NZIPP) confirmed my accreditation, after a pre-assessment and then portfolio assessment process, as an NZIPP Portrait Photographer.
I'm thrilled with this official title because it means my clients can be assured that my standard of work and my business ethics align with accepted industry practice and that I'm committed to continued professional development. A panel of (amazing, awe-inspiring) professional photographers reviewed my portrait portfolio and confirmed this status. Through my application to be accredited I confirmed that I adhere to industry best practices and have sound business processes. In short: I'm providing an excellent service for people and organisations that engage me for photography work.
In the NZIPP's own words: Why book an NZIPP Accredited Professional Photographer?
NZIPP Accredited Professional Photographers offer consumers greater buyer confidence, knowing they have chosen a photographer who has demonstrated expertise and achievement. They meet the technical, creative and business standards of professional photography, as set by recognised industry professionals. They are bound by a Code of Ethics, and are continually looking to educate themselves through regular professional development. Find a photographer now: www.nzphotographers.co.nz
I'm honoured to now be a part of the NZIPP Accredited whānau. I'm so grateful to Rebecca Kempton for her mentoring during my accreditation, Victoria Vincent for giving me a start as an intern photographer in her studio, and to all my photography friends and colleagues for inspiring me to create and to be a better photographer. Thank you to all of my wonderful clients who have given me the opportunity to have a strong portrait portfolio.
Do get in touch if you're wanting to work with a professional photographer and want that confidence of service and professionalism. I'd love to work with you to create some beautiful images.
Ngā mihi, Rebecca
